15 NCAA Teams Compete at Historic Medinah CC October 8-9, 2018
Medinah, Ill.– The University of Illinois Women’s Golf Team will host the Illini Women’s Invitational October 8-9 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill. This marks the first tournament hosted by the Fighting Illini since the 2008 Illini Spring Classic in Urbana, Ill. 15 teams will be participating in the event in a 54-hole stroke play format. The Big 10 Conference will be well represented with four conference teams competing: Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, and Wisconsin. (more…)

Glenview, Ill. – June 20, 2018 – The Illinois PGA announced that it will host a Women’s Team Skills Challenge event at Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, Ill. on Thursday, June 28th to coincide with the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship that kicks off the same week across the street at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Ill.

Mundelein, Illinois (April 10, 2018) – University of Illinois star and Big Ten Player of the Year Nick Hardy will make his professional debut at this year’s Rust-Oleum Championship, June 4-10, at the Ivanhoe Club in Mundelein, tournament officials announced today.
Hardy, 22, of Northbrook, who is completing his senior year at Illinois, said he officially will turn pro at the Web.com Tour event following the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. 
The best players in women’s golf are set to take the stage once again for the 2018 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship June 26-July 1, 2018.
The stage – Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Illinois – will host a Major Championship for the first time since hosting the 1989 PGA Championship, when the late Payne Stewart came from behind to win the first of his three Major Championships. Now, after an extensive clubhouse renovation and course upgrades, Kemper Lakes will end its 16-year hiatus from tournament golf and prepare the course for international attention. 
One glance at the Eaglewood scorecard and doubts immediately popped into my mind. A par 72 course that tops out at a few steps over 6,000 yards is plenty long for this 20 handicap golfer, but how does it defend itself against better golfers armed with 21st century technology? Surprisingly, pretty well, as the resort course in Itasca more than holds its own against all but the very best players. The 60 plus bunkers are menacingly deep and ideally placed, the three ponds and meandering creek at the north end of the course are true hazards, and the sloping greens are perilous from above the hole.
