The U.S. National FootGolf Championship is a qualifier for the FootGolf World Cup to be played at Pilar Golf Club in Argentina on January 6-10, 2016. The top three finishers at Sydney Marovitz Golf Course earn a spot on the U.S. team for the second annual global event presented by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).

“We are excited to bring the country’s best FootGolfers together and conduct our first National Championship on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Sydney Marovitz Golf Course, in the beautiful city of Chicago. The course and city are a perfect combination for our inaugural tournament,” said Laura Balestrini, president of the AFGL

One of the fastest growing sports nationwide with nearly 450 courses in 48 states, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, the exciting sport of FootGolf marries the skills of soccer and golf. Players kick a soccer ball into a 21” hole in the fewest number of strokes. The majority of the rules mirror the Rules of Golf as well as the attire and etiquette. The AFGL only sanctions FootGolf courses built upon existing golf courses – anything else is just holes in the ground. 18 holes of FootGolf can be perfectly set up on a 9-hole golf course.
